Pantos is the answer to an increasingly fragmented digital currency market. It is an open-source, open-innovation driven research project, bringing all major blockchain platforms closer together, which will set new standards for decentralised cross-chain token transfers.
Pantos aims to bring influential blockchain projects closer together, improve communication between developers, researchers and users, and set innovative standards for decentralised cross-chain token transfers.
Pantos is an open-source, open-innovation driven scientific research project. It will be developed in collaboration with researchers at the Technical University of Vienna, the Research Institute for Future Cryptoeconomics (RIAT) and the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Together we will bring Token Atomic Swap Technology (TAST) to life, which will prospectively act as a key technology in a tokenized world.
We want Pantos to serve as a lighthouse project, combining the security of major cryptocurrency protocols with state-of-the-art development in the blockchain technology, and fostering a cooperation between various projects in the blockchain community. Only together we can determine best practice and set new standards for cross-chain token transfers.
Instead of submerging after the completed ICO for a few years to do “research in stealth mode”, we want to rapidly and publicly assemble working solutions whilst using readily available, state-of-the-art technologies. By harnessing Atomic Swap, Lightning Network and Smart Contract technologies, we will gradually but effectively accomplish the complete decentralisation of PAN.
Pantos will act as a common denominator, providing flexibility, stability and liquidity. It will enable near-instant arbitrage, increasing the volume on all decentralised markets and prospectively drive the demand for PAN tokens. Through Pantos, traders will be able to identify and exploit emerging price differences between arbitrary digital currency pairs.
Cross-chain token transfers will make it possible for users to easily migrate between any current and future blockchain asset, be it a store of value, computing power, or data storage. For example, if a user believes in the utility of a new, technologically superior blockchain, they can simply and smoothly migrate to it.
Pantos’ portability feature will allow PAN to become the first universal denominator token. This will allow for the introduction of a new crypto-economic metric: A Blockchain Dominance Index that shows real-time token usage and distribution among blockchains and can measure each blockchain's significance for PAN whilst monitoring shifts and activity in real-time.
As our scientific partner, the TU Wien will provide us with a dedicated research staff for a joint project called ‘Token Atomic Swap Technologies’ (TAST). The core aim of TAST is the scientific monitoring of the introduction of atomic swap technologies into the Pantos project. Based on insights gained from this project, prototypes of on-chain atomic swaps will be built to demonstrate the mass market suitability.
Transparency and openness are key values for us. Therefore, we will follow a lean and agile approach, developing Pantos iteratively, with thorough testing at all milestones and actively implementing community feedback.
